Giorgio Grisales violin 2006, Cremona, Italy.
Born in 1962, Giorgio Grisales has lived in Cremona, Italy since 1982. He graduated from the International School of Violin Making in Cremona in 1988, and soon earned diplomas in bow making and instrument restoration as well. Mr. Grisales now has a world-wide reputation for his fine Italian instruments, which are often built on the models of Stradivari, Guarneri, Giuseppe Ornati, and Giuseppe Fiorini.
We believe this violin to be truly one of the most beautiful and fine-sounding instruments that we have seen come out of Cremona in the last several decades. The beauty of the one-piece flamed maple back is greatly enhanced by the golden ground color that peeks through the lightly shaded and antiqued deep red-brown finish. The maker has labeled, signed, branded, and sealed with wax and gold-leaf the interior of this violin. This is both a collectible instrument, as well as one that will suit a discriminating violin soloist.
As with all high-end instruments and bows, we recommend that you make an appointment to audition this violin at our shop in southern California before committing to the purchase of this violin.
