This instrument is part of the Contemporary Violin & Bow Maker 2017 Exhibition & Sale, Los Angeles.

After having participated as a bass player, mainly in the Orchestra of the State of México and the Orchestre Royal de Liege, Ernesto Ramírez became violinmaker since the last 35 years. He learned violinmaking under the discipline of Moises Palacios, Paul Hart and Gabriele Kundert.

He has been dedicated mainly to the construction and restoration of violins, violas and cellos.

Throughout his race he has rendered services to the main orchestras of the country and provide with instruments to outstanding professional musicians and students of Mexico.

On the CD, "The Spiral Viola" recorded by Omar Hernandez can be appreciated the viola built by Ernesto especially for this musician.

Ernesto was the organizer and coordinator of the Meetings of Laudería Mexicana I and II held at the Exconvento of Tepoztlán, Morelos.

At the moment he is dedicated exclusively to the construction of instruments of the violin family and preparing a violin making book titled "The perfect symmetry or the optimum sound".

Ernesto Ramírez was born in Mexico City at 28 of Sept. 1951.
