In the years since, Starkie has frequently attended the Violin Society of America’s Oberlin Summer Workshop to learn from luthiers such as Joseph Curtin and Samuel Zygmuntowicz, while periodically traveling to London to visit the workshop of Stephan Peter Greiner. Sherman graduated in 2014. For the next decade, he worked at the Feng Jiang Violins atelier in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Brewer was one of the first students to enroll in the historic North Bennet Street School in Boston, Massachusetts’ violin making and repair program in the mid-1980s. For six years, Brewer worked with Paul Schuback at Schuback Violin Shop, Inc. in the Pacific Northwest. Brewer then relocated to San Antonio, Texas where he worked at Terra Nova Violins atelier for three years.
