Brewer was one of the first students to enroll in the historic North Bennet Street School in Boston, Massachusetts’ violin making and repair program in the mid-1980s. For six years, Brewer worked with Paul Schuback at Schuback Violin Shop, Inc. in the Pacific Northwest. Brewer then relocated to San Antonio, Texas where he worked at Terra Nova Violins atelier for three years.
