BASS ROSINS

Bass rosin is an essential accessory for all players. Rosin is a block or cake of tree sap you rub on the bow hair required to have it produce sound. The bow will not produce sound when drawn across the strings without rosin. Ideally, players use rosin specifically made for their instrument. Varieties are often differing levels of stickiness, and depend on the player’s tastes.

BASS MUTES

Bass mutes are a useful accessory for bassists of all skill levels. Mutes rest on the bridge to reduce the bridge’s vibration and thus the volume of sound emitted by the instrument. Mutes are commonly used by players in groups or ensembles, as those pieces frequently call for muted playing from time to time. We only carry Baroque Bling mutes for bass.

BASS WOLF ELIMINATORS

Bass wolf eliminators (or wolf tone suppressors), reduce wolf tones on the bass. Wolf tones are an issue for some instruments, caused by the natural resonant frequency of open strings. If you have a wolf tone, you hear an unpleasant overtone when you play an open string. This can be challenging if you love your instrument! Wolf eliminators alter the resonant frequency of the string, reducing the occurrence of wolf tones, so you can continue to enjoy playing on your instrument.
