So you're looking for an instrument for your preschooler taking their first cello lessons or are a petite adult seeking a comfortable playing experience, we will have an instrument that will fit beautifully. While we give some rough estimates for age ranges for instrument sizes, we recommend we measure the player in-store or you follow a private teacher’s recommendation.

7/8 Size Cellos are ideal for petite teens and adults who find full-size instruments uncomfortable. These cellos maintain nearly the same sound projection as full-size instruments, improving ease and playability and helping avoid injury.

3/4 Size Cellosis one of our most popular fractional sizes. Often for children ages 9-11, these instruments provide excellent tone quality and are perfect for intermediate students ready to tackle more challenging repertoire.

1/2 Size Cellos are often children aged roughly 6-8 years with proper proportions that encourage correct posture and bow hold development. These violins produce surprisingly rich tones despite their smaller size.

1/4 Size Cellos are designed for students usually between 4-6 years of age, sporting comfortable neck dimensions and string spacing ideal for making early learning enjoyable.
