OUR VIOLA SELECTION

While we are “Metzler Violin Shop,” we carry many exceptional violas and cellos too! Our collection of violas is a testament to our dedication to quality, craft, and variety. With a lower and deeper sound than the violin, the viola is its gorgeous and soulful cousin. We offer a range of viola sizes, including smaller violas and some for rent. We can ship instruments and bows for those who would like to try them outside the Los Angeles area! In addition to violas, we also offer viola bows, viola cases, and viola strings. 

To try an instrument or a bow (or several!) in person, please make an appointment! This will ensure the instruments and bows you would like to play are in the shop and we have space (and staff) to accommodate you. The best method is to call or text us during business hours. Our shop is known for its high-quality products, and we are proud to offer a wide range of viola accessories to suit the needs of all musicians. We also offer a range of services for violas. Our viola repair and restoration services are performed by our in-house luthiers, who are highly skilled and experienced in the art of cello repair. Our repair services include crack repair, varnish touch-ups, and sound adjustments. We also offer viola bow rehairing, repair, and restoration. 

Overall, we are dedicated to providing the highest quality service to *all* of our clients. Metzler Violins is comprised of a small-but-mighty group of passionate musicians and expert luthiers and restorers, all of whom are eager to support players in their ventures, whether they are just beginning or have been musicians for a lifetime. For those in need of viola bows, we maintain an inventory to complement that of our instruments. Our diverse roster of bows for sale include those of history’s most celebrated makers as well as from contemporary workshops. In addition, we have an inventory of carbon fiber and fiberglass bows, again ranging from those for beginners to professional players.

VIOLA CASES & ACCESSORIES

We also carry many viola cases and accessories. As with all of the products in our store, we have ferreted out the best items available at different price points in hopes to give our customers the choicest options no matter their budget. Overall, our cases will safely protect your instrument—and often with style. We also have dozens of rosin options and, if there is a need, can help you in your selection. Our violin accessories also include everything from shoulder rests to mutes and more. Some accessories, such as chin rests, are available only in-store as we suggest players try them in-person prior to purchase.
