About the Instrument
This cello has a lustrous apricot varnish that brings out the strong medium curl that falls just slightly from the center joint of the two-piece maple back. A similar flame runs along the scroll, and the ribs are have a more pronounced figure.

About the Maker
Bertrand Yves Delisle (1964- ) was born in Rambouillet, growing up in the small town of Clermont de l’Oise in the north of France, initially training as a saxophone player. Delisle attended the Scuola Internazionale di Liuteria in Cremona, studying under master luthier Giorgio Cé. After completing his degree, Delisle began working at the Carlson, Cacciatori, and Neumann in 1991. While at this atelier, Delisle received awards at the Mittenwald Violinmaking Competition and Manchester Cello Festival, both for cello. Delisle opened his own workshop in Cremona in 1999, where he has worked for almost thirty years. In 2002, he became a member of the Officina Musicale.
