This cello has a silky, warm tone, focused and responsive when played. An apricot varnish brings out the lovely tight tiger figure extending upwards from the center joint on its two-piece maple back. Similar flames run along its ribs and scroll. This cello is modeled after one made by Francesco Ruggieri, known for being the first to craft a smaller cello while maintaining a depth of sound.
