About the Instrument
This viola has a beautiful sound and is responsive and clear, making it a delight to play. A gorgeous wide flame figure falls from the center joint of the two-piece maple back on this instrument. Similar flames run along the ribs, with the lower ribs’s figures in the counter direction. The neck and scroll bear a strong medium curl. This viola has a beautiful apricot varnish over a golden ground with shading and antiquing thoughtfully executed by the maker.
