This violin is from one of the oldest known members of the Pfretzschner violin-making dynasty, and dates from the late 1700s. This violin has a beautiful one-piece back, but a top that has been heavily repaired. The scroll is not the original one. The violin is accompanied by an appraisal in Danish by Emil Hjorth dated 1942.
