In 1983 Thomas opened the first shop in the city of Boston expressly focused on the service, maintenance and repair of musical instrument bows.

Thomas has earned 17 awards including two Gold medals from the Violin Society of America. (1986 VSA Gold Medal violin bow) (1992 VSA Gold Medal cello bow)

International Society of Bassists 2003 Gold Medal for a German style bass bow

Member of the Violin Society of America since 1980

The Boston workshop was closed in 2017.

Presently working from a small studio in the suburbs of Boston.
